Wine and Chocolate Affair April 14


It’s time once again for one of the biggest fund raisers of the year for the Lillie Russell Memorial Library, the Wine and Chocolate Affair scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 14.

Tickets are $20 each or two for $35 and can be purchased at the library or from the Friends of the Library, any member of the board of directors or at the door.

Participants can sample wine from local and area wineries and be entertained by live music from Todd Rinlee and the Tuxedo Cats.

Also, hors d’oeuvres will be available as will a sampler buffet and the prime attraction, chocolate desserts.

Several local businesses have generously donated items for the silent auction.

Everything is included in the price of a ticket with all funds going to benefit the library.

Other events scheduled during the next few weeks include:

-- Story Time each Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m.

-- Tax Aid offered by AARP each Thursday. Call 903-882-1900 for more information.

-- Therapets will be visiting again on March 10 and March 24 from 10:30 a.m.-12 noon. Call to sign up to enjoy a session with a therapet.

There are other activities scheduled during spring break. They include:

-- On March 13, the movie “Coco’’ will be shown beginning at 2 p.m. At 4 p.m., for ages 12 and older, “Lab Rats’’ will be shown. Other showings of this movie will be 4 p.m. on March 14 and March 15.

-- On March 14, Create It At The Library with puzzles and Legos for all ages from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Another showing of “Lab Rats’’ is scheduled for 4 p.m.

-- On March 16, Blackout Poetry and an Oreo taste off for ages 12 and older at 1 p.m.

--On March 17, a Lego Brick Party is scheduled for all ages from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Also, a showing of “My Little Pony’’ is scheduled for 2 p.m.
