Lindale Junior High School girls post wins in Canton, against Moses

The Lindale Junior High School girls basketball teams have been busy during the past couple of weeks, defeating Moses Junior High School last week and competing in the Canton Junior High School Tournament this past weekend.

In Canton, the Lady Eagles won two games and lost two games.

The 7th graders fell to Athens, 30-18; defeated Quinlan 22-13 and lost to Eustacce, 29-14.

Leaders included Brooke Everest, Makenna Burks and Natalie Hill were tops in scoring; Kennedy Weesner, Kaniyah Hill and Natalie Hill were leaders in rebounds; Mckenna Burks, Desirae Pennington and Brooke Everest led the team in steals and Desirae Pennington and Mckenna Burks were leaders in assists.

For the 8th graders, they defeated Quinlan, 35-18; fell to Canton, 29-20 in overtime and lost to Whitehouse, 28-13.

Brenley Philen and Darby Woodrum were leaders in points; Maggie Spearman and Brenley Philen were the top rebounders; Kenleigh Aguirre, Emily Havens and Darby Woodrum led in steals and Darby Woodrum, Kenleigh Aguirre and Emily Havens led in assists.

Against Moses, the Lady Eagles won all four of the games.

The 7th grade B team crushed Moses, 24-2; the 7th grade A team scored a huge 32-1 win; the 8th grade B team won 24-4 and the 8th grade A team won, 30-9.

In the 7th grade B game, Morgan Parks, Jillian Ortiz, Brooke Tweedell and Keatyn Bills were the leaders in points; Keatyn Bills and Kaydee Cox were rebound leaders; Eva Yates and Destiny Luellen were leaders in steals and Bailey Lane and Sydney Toon were leaders in assists.

Makenna Burks led the 7th grade A team in points, Kaniyah Hill led in rebounds, Brooke Everest and Natalie Hill were leaders in steals while Makenna Burks and Brooke Everest were leaders in assists.

Autumn Schoolcraft led the 8th grade B team in points, Makayla Alana Lexi Keels were leaders in rebounds, Makayla Alana and Shelby Anderson were leaders in steals while Makayla Alana and Adriana Rodriguez were the leaders in assists.

For the 8th grade A team, Brenley Philen, Kenleigh Aguirre and Darby Woodrum were leaders in points, Carly Hilliard, Darby Woodrum and Brenley Philen were leaders in rebounds, Emily Havens and Kenleigh Aguirre were leaders in steals and Maggie Spearman, Laila Reue and Darby Woodrum were leaders in assists.
