Two of the most anticipated events of the year for the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce are keeping organizers busy.
The 5th annual LACC Golf Tournament sponsored by Tyler Ford will tee off on Monday morning, Sept. 24 at Garden Valley Golf Club, which will be followed a couple of weeks later by the always popular Countryfest, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13 in downtown Lindale.
And to add another layer to the fun of Countryfest, organizers are busy preparing for the annual Harvest Hustle 5K run, which benefits the David Powell Food Pantry in Lindale, the Lindale ISD Foundation, the Lindale Fire Department and the Lillie Russell Memorial Library.
Golfers will tee off with a shot gun start at Garden Valley beginning at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 24.
The tourney is a four-man scramble and the $350 (per team) entry fee includes a cart, breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Golfers can register and be on the range at 7:30 a.m.
Other highlights of the tournament include mulligans, game cards and a par 5 challenge.
Golfers can also sign up for a $10,000 hole-in-one contest.
Entry information as well as sponsorship opportunities can be found on the LACC’s web site, www.lindalechamber.org.
The 34th annual Countryfest gets under way at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 in downtown Lindale at Picker’s Pavilion and the surrounding area and conclude at 3:30 p.m.
Booth information can be found on the chamber’s web site, but chamber officials are encouraging those interested in having a booth download the information packet for review because of changes made to this year’s booth placement.
Always a popular event for East Texans, Countryfest has grown exponentially during the past several years.
LACC President and CEO Shelbie Glover estimated that more than 7,500 attended the event in 2017 and chamber officials are expecting another large turnout this year.
There will be vendors offering food and merchandise, pony rides, carnival games, a duck calling contest, a rock wall for climbing, the annual Crossroads Classic Car Show and the Hideaway Kiwanis Club Auction.
