The Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce’s 34th annual Countryfest, one of the most well attended events in East Texas, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13 in downtown Lindale, organizers announced.
Other events during Countryfest include the Crossroads Classic Car Show and the Harvest Hustle 5K run.
Countryfest activities begin at 9:30 a.m. at Picker’s Pavilion and the surrounding area and conclude at 3:30 p.m.
LACC President and CEO Shelbie Glover estimated that more than 7,500 attended the event in 2017 and chamber officials are expecting another large turnout this year.
There will be vendors offering food and merchandise, pony rides, carnival games, a duck calling contest, a rock wall for climbing and the Hideaway Kiwanis Club Auction.
Crossroads Classic Car Show
Cars, trucks and bikes will descend on Lindale Saturday, Oct. 13 for the Crossroads Classic Car show, sponsored by the Lillie Russell Memorial Library, publicity officials announced.
Always one of the most popular parts of Countryfest, the entire family will enjoy a day of great cars, which will be featured near Picker’s Pavilion just behind the library and fire station.
Registration for car owners is $20 prior to the day of the event and $25 on Oct. 13.
Harvest Hustle 5K
While Countryfest is getting cranked up, runners from all across East Texas will be limbering up for the annual Harvest Hustle 5K run, scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. near Picker’s Pavilion.
Check in is 7:30 a.m. and entry fees are $30 per runner through Oct. 7 and $35 on race day. The race benefits the David Powell Food Pantry in Lindale, the Lindale ISD Foundation, the Lindale Fire Department and the Lillie Russell Memorial Library.
