'Big' time planned as circus featured

The annual Wine and Chocolate Affair, a popular benefit attraction at the Lillie Russell Memorial Library in downtown Lindale, has all the earmarks of a fun day at the circus which will get under way Saturday, April 8.

The big event will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 each or two for $35.

Directing all the events for our Big Top will be special “Ringmaster’’ Kathy Murphy, award winning speaker and literacy advocate. She founded The Pulpwood Queens Book Club, and is the author of “The Pulpwood Queens’ Tiara Wearing, Book Sharing Guide to Life.”

It’s not just chocolate, but a veritable midway of yummy finger food.

Favorite hot or cold coffee drinks from Latte Da Espresso are included in your ticket. For a small fee, you may sample Kiepersol Estates wines or those from Valle Della Pace Vineyards, near Garden Valley.

There will be popcorn, guessing games, and a contest for the most popular chocolate confection—the winner gets a tiara.

Bring your camera because an old-fashioned “photo booth” will be available for your selfies.

No lions or tigers at this circus, but there will be cats — Todd Rinlee and the Tuxedo Cats band.

Since it’s impossible to listen to the Tuxedo Cats and not want to dance, a space has been cleared a space to do just that.

There are also unique bargains available at the silent auction.

The Friends of the Lillie Russell Memorial Library are still accepting items for the auction.

Just received is a gift certificate for four for the Discovery Science Place in Tyler.
