Speech, debate students earn more awards


Junior Logan Herrera, senior Jessica Warren, freshman Mary Gray and sophomore Brooklyn Van Winkle will compete at the state level in Waco. Junior Logan Herrera, senior Jessica Warren, freshman Mary Gray and sophomore Brooklyn Van Winkle will compete at the state level in Waco. Lindale High School speech and debate students continue to have success in recent tournaments, with 18 students qualifying for the UIL Academic Regional Competition at the University of Texas at Arlington April 19-20, and four more earned a trip to Waco later in April for the state meet.

Junior Logan Herrera, senior Jessica Warren, freshman Mary Gray and sophomore Brooklyn Van Winkle all won the regional Bus Safety Speech Contest.

They each won a scholarship at the regional level and will compete for more scholarships at the state level.

Those qualifying for the UTA competition include:
