Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Jones, 74, of Tyler and relative of Lindale residents, were held Monday, Dec. 31 in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment was in the Lindale City Cemetery, with services also under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge.
Mrs. Jones died Friday, Dec. 28 in a Tyler hospice center. She was born on April 17, 1938 in DeKalb, Texas to the Gladys and Murel Wilson.
She grew up in New Boston, Texas where she graduated from New Boston High School in 1956.
She married Richard Jones on Feb. 24, 1958 and was formerly of Irving and Texarkana before moving to Tyler in 1988 where she worked 12 years for the Tyler ISD before retiring in 2000.
Mrs. Jones was a former Girl Scout leader, Parent/Teacher Association President and lifetime member of the Texas State PTA.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Jones of Tyler; daughters and son-in-law, Karen Adair of Carrollton and Nancy and James Rinehart of Lindale; granddaughter, Katelyn Adair of Carrollton; twin brother, Bobby Wilson of Glen Rose; brother, Marvin Wilson of Archer City, Texas as well as many nieces and nephews.
