Quilted Christmas Exhibit on tap

Lindale residents who have heirloom quilts and want to share them – for a few days – with the community are invited to bring them to Lindale City Hall to be displayed in the “Quilted Christmas Exhibit,’’ scheduled through Dec. 15 at the Old Mill Pond Museum, officials announced.

Officials said this is a great way to celebrate old fashion winter comfort, community, and beauty and pay homage to the past, passion and sewing skills of Lindale residents.

The “Quilted Christmas Exhibit’’ will feature the handmade quilts as well as the story behind each one.

The Quilted Christmas Exhibit will conclude on Dec. 15 with an old fashioned Christmas festival which will including quilting demonstrations by Lindale’s own Quilting Bees, musical performances by The Vanderveer Brothers, a Texas 42 Domino Tournament, a holly jolly sack race, refreshments, and much more.

Quilts will be available for return following the closing of the Quilted Christmas Exhibit.

For more information regarding the quilting exhibit or following festivities call Lindale’s Old Mill Pond Museum at 903-881-5704.
