Lindale community has lots to offer
Larry Wilson took second place with his photo of a flag retirement ceremony Those who have lived in Lindale for any amount of time can tell visitors that there’s no shortage of things to do, see and enjoy in one of the most scenic areas of East Texas.
Local amateur photographers have noticed this for years and have been able to capture interesting and provocative images.
The Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual photo contest provided the platform for these photographers, and in the Community Events category, three were selected which showcased the intriguing variety from this area.

Stan Surratt’s photo of the LISD Performing Arts Center, captured at dusk, shows not only one of the most attractive venues in East Texas, but how the architect’s vision was captured in the final product, which is considered one of the top performance venues in East Texas.
Stan Surratt’s photo of the Lindale ISD Performing Arts Center (above) was the first place winner in the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce photo contest. Second place was earned by Larry Wilson, who captured the solemn nature of the proper way to retire a United State flag.
