SEE MORE WINNING SPORTS Sporting events have been enjoyed by East Texans for many years and have been a favorite subject of local amateur photographers as well.

No matter the sport or activity, local residents love to cheer on their favorite team, whether it be one of the many teams from the Lindale ISD or little league baseball and softball as well as youth league football.

One thing is for certain: athletic events provide good subject matter for those talented enough to capture them with their cameras.

The Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce’s fifth annual Photo Contest featured a sports category once more and this year’s winners showcased their excellent eye for action.

First place in the sports category was taken by Larry Wilson for “What a catch’’ at a LHS baseball game. Wilson also won second place for his “Slam the Vball’’ at a LHS volleyball game. Finally, James Cowart took third for his shot from the Lindale-Whitehouse football game earlier this year.
