Local dancers to perform in ‘The Nutcracker’


Three dancers from Lindale, Haylie Horton, Jolie Moorman and Nicole Hines, have parts in TJC’s annual production of “The Nutcracker.’’ Three dancers from Lindale, Haylie Horton, Jolie Moorman and Nicole Hines, have parts in TJC’s annual production of “The Nutcracker.’’ Three Lindale dance students have earned roles in the annual Tyler Junior College production of “The Nutcracker,’’ scheduled to begin Friday, Nov. 30 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 2, officials announced.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

All performances will be held at Wise Auditorium on TJC’s main campus.

Haylie Horton and Jolie Moorman, both Lindale ISD sixth graders were cast as Angels and first grader Nicole Hines was cast as a Mouse. Moorman also has a part in the family scene.

All three auditioned in September and all are dance students at Karie Horton’s School of Dance in Lindale.

“Being in a production such as this gives these dancers such a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence in their dancing,” said Karie Horton.
